Fernando Alarza Vicente
Fernando Alarza Vicente was born in Talavera de la Reina, on March 23, 1991. From a very young age Fernando follows the wake of his brothers in the world of swimming, combining this with the participation in popular careers in his city, He was passionate about the world of athletics.. He embarked on the triathlon when he was 16, as this sport allowed him to combine his two passions. Its debut in this sport goes back to summer of 2007.
At age 17, he received a scholarship from the CSD and spent several years in the High Performance Center in Madrid, where he began to forge one of the best Junior triathletes, winning the gold medal at the Junior World Championship in Budapest (2010) , And making a place in international elite category. Since then, Fernando has been international with the Spanish team on numerous occasions.
In 2013 his sporting ambition makes him change airs and he goes to Pontevedra with Omar González, a coach and a great friend who is making Fernando be entrenched among the 3 best triathletes in the World. His first podium in Elite category in the World Series of Triathlon came in the 2015 season, in London, where he won the silver medal.
Last season, Fernando wrote his name in the history of the World Series of Triathlon, winning the WTS of Cape Town. Next to this victory, Fernando was raised three podium, which allowed to be bronze in the Triathlon World Championship.
The Olympic dream has been the greatest achievement for Fernando, participating in Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be the great goal of the coming years.
